Hehe, got quite a bit of flak today in guild chat for my choice to be a moonkin. =P I did admit today that I have been thinking about feral a bit more...survivablity wise it'd be easier, and getting groups together wouldn't be as much of a hassle. Problem with this is that pugs would be rather unhappy with a feral rolling on caster gear, and feral gear. So I dunno about that.

Also, considering the sheer difference in the levels of my gear, feral might be the way to level for me. Moonkin is fun, and I'm sure the upgrades I'd be looking for I could find by maybe...70 for my cape, 73 for boots, others would be a little above that. With feral I've got the DST, could get a mongoose enchant, a large amount of AP...moonkin means I get nice nukes which could average out against the constant killing feral provides.

Another issue I'd have to consider...I'm far more familiar (arguably more comfortable) with feral, considering I did raid as feral and did a good deal of pvp as feral way back when. Moonkin is different, as (though you still have to shift to heal), with ferals you don't have to worry about using the same resource bar for both healing and damage...you get rage/energy, and then mana for healing, or you get mana/mana for dps/healing. With enough regen, mana/mana wouldn't be much of an issue, I imagine.

Finally, the gear. The line between "caster" and "healer" items are almost too close to call now. Honestly I could just get over it, but I never really liked the consolidation of healing and spell damage into one stat. For casters, sure, it opens up gear options that accompany various specs...for moonkins, the line is absurdly close with trees, as moonkins benefit pretty well from spirit, as we get a 15% boost to spellpower in addition to having a boost to mana regen from Intensity (which comes out to more mana regen than dreamstate). I could easily make things simple and go feral, only have to worry about physical dps leather and be done with it.

Bwah, only a few days left and faced with such a dilemma. At least I've got gear to back up either choice. ^_^
